From Flicker to Flame: The Spark That Built My Coaching Framework (part 2)
Part 2: Finding the Framework within the Flame
Once the realization hit — that community wasn’t just a piece of my work, but the foundation — everything began to reorient. It was as if I had been holding a thousand puzzle pieces with no corner to anchor them, and suddenly, the bottom edge locked into place.
I didn’t need to start with the perfect program. I needed to start with the women it was for.
I had spent years immersed in leadership development, coaching, organizational change, personal transformation — and still, nothing had clicked quite like the clarity that came when I saw connection as the heart of my vision.
So, I shifted. Not away from courses or my business systems — those still mattered — but toward a new order of operations. I began designing with the community in mind, not just around it. Coaching, courses, curriculum — all of it needed to live within a container of connection.
That’s when the idea for my private community started to take shape. Not just another Facebook group or digital hangout, but a sacred space for growth-minded women to rise in purpose, together. And suddenly, the pieces that once felt like they were colliding or competing began to flow.
It wasn’t about shrinking my vision to fit a business model. It was about building a business model expansive enough to hold the full expression of my vision.
But even as I built out the pillars — Coaching, Courses, and Community — there was still something stirring inside me that hadn’t fully found its voice.
Then one day, in the shower (of course), the idea dropped in like divine download from the universe:
I needed to write a book.
It had been on the edges of my awareness for months — swirling, whispering, waiting. But that day, the signal came in clear. I could see it. The outline, the chapter titles, the stories. I knew this wasn’t just a book about the work. It was the work. While I’d found the heart of my work in the community, the book was the soul of it. A volume of personal storytelling and collected knowledge that would offer something deeper, something lasting.
I scrambled to write it all down before the threads of thought slipped away, capturing as much as I could in one go. It came fast — like it had already been written somewhere in the ethers and was simply waiting for me to catch up.
But even then, I didn’t yet have the framework that was meant to live on the pages. I had the feeling of it — the shape, the intention, the concepts — but I couldn’t name it yet. I couldn’t draw it yet. But something inside me said it was coming.
So, I went back to the systems for a bit. I started this blog, a newsletter, finished my website, and prepared the community for beta testing.
Then after a few weeks, the prospect of an organizational change at work pushed something to the surface. The sensation jarred something loose within me that had been trapped just out of reach for months.
So, I that just a few weekends ago I sat down, and finally, the framework flowed out of me.
I crafted it — not for the business, not for the book, not for the workplace — but for the truth of what I believe this work is. A model that holds everything: personal growth, inner healing, organizational strategy, powerful leadership, soulful purpose, human connection.
And when I finished, I just stared at it. It felt like holding a lit torch in my hands.
And finally, I felt completely at peace.
A flame that had started way back in March with a single spark of “maybe I could start a coaching business” had become a roaring fire of something bigger — something alive.
That’s how my coaching framework was born. Not from a blank whiteboard or a perfect business plan, but from listening deep within myself. From living in the spaces between the known answers. From trusting it would come to me when it was time. From sitting in the tension between who I had been, who I was becoming, and who the world was calling me to be.
And now, I carry it forward — into the book, into the business, into the lives of the women I hope it will serve.
Because some frameworks aren’t just thought through — they’re lived through. Burned through. Built in the flames of our passing selves.
And if you’re on your own journey of creating something bold, brave, and true — I hope this reminds you: trust your spark. Honor the fire. Let it run through you and shape you.
